Explore the old Historic Capitol and The Capitol of Florida

Held annually since 2020, FCDI Day at the Capitol brings civics and debate students from throughout the state to Tallahassee to immerse them in the legislative process and provide them with first-hand understanding of how state government works.

From participating in a mock session on the House Floor, to hearing from state leaders such as agency heads, chiefs of staff and Florida Supreme Court Justices, students have the opportunity to interact with government and elected officials and experience the Florida Capitol during legislative session.

For the second year in a row, we are asking coaches to nominate their debate students to attend FDCI Day at the Capitol. Do you have a student who is showing strong leadership on your speech and debate team and an interest in government and civil service?

NOMINATION CRITERIA:
Students Must

Be fully engaged or playing a leadership role in their speech and debate team

Have an interest in civics and government
