Civic engagement is a key responsibility as American citizens

yet only 27% of Americans ages 18-29 cast a ballot in 2022 and

only 2 in 5 U.S. adults can name the three branches of government.

The mission of the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative is to create access and opportunities for all students to have the best civics education including curriculum, debate programs, and high-quality teachers that are catalysts for students becoming great citizens who can preserve our constitutional republic for future generations.

Since its inception in 2019, FCDI has seen exponential growth throughout the state, quickly expanding from 59 schools in 2020-2021 to nearly 400 in 2022-2023.
